Stripping it all back

In the past weeks I feel i’ve really relaxed my everyday beauty regime. With me  I was either full glam, red lips fake lashes or I was bare face, messy bun I had no comfortable happy middle ground. Not only have I now found a more relaxed daily   beauty regime, I’ve also chopped my long hair to above my shoulders and now rock a LOB (Long Bob) which I love!!

Every product mentioned in this post are products I use every day. Some if not all have appeared on my blog in previous reviews. I suppose it just goes to show I use what I preach, and truly do love the products I share with you guys.

Skin.

Stripping back your makeup is easier said than done. If you have problematic skin you just want to reach for your foundation and concealer. This is why I have made taking care of my skin a priority. When you have good skin its easier to confidently  strip it all back.

In the evening and first thing in the morning I cleanse my skin with La Roche – Posay Makeup remover milk. I then apply Vichy Mineral 89 Booster to plump my skin. Once dried I then apply Vichy Slow Âge daily cream to moisturize.  This cream tackles developing signs of ageing. I then spritz my face with Uriage Thermal water spray and let it dry fully before moving on to the next step.

Makeup

Stripping back my foundation and contouring for daily wear,  I now reach for tinted CC cream by Artistry Cosmetics. This CC cream also has a SPF of 50 UVA/UVB PA+++

I then gently swirl Lancôme bronzer over my face to add a little bit colour and to blur out any visible pores.

Taking Lancôme cream blusher I apply it to the apples of my cheeks. I like that this blusher also acts like highlight while adding a dewy freshness to my skin.

For my eyebrows I take the Eylure Eyebrow palette. I fill in any gaps with gentle hair like strokes; keeping them very natural.

I simple then add a coat of mascara. I usually jump back and forth using different mascaras, at the moment  I am using Lancôme Monsieur Big mascara.

 Lips

Anybody that knows me or reads my blog will know I love a red lip. It is my comfort blanket. A swipe of my favourite matte red lip stick and it instantly gives me confidence. Stripping this back from my  daily beauty routine has been the hardest for me. I am now wearing alot more creamy nudes and balms during the week. One of my favourite nudes is this Lancôme shaker in the shade Vintage. It feels super creamy when applying and leaves me with a subtle nude sheen to my lips that drys to a matte finish. For me applying a lipstick of any shade can really finish off any look.

My makeup now takes roughly 10 mins. It’s not something I dread nor does it take much time out of my day. I have found my happy medium – and feel confident and put together without been overly done. You will mostly find me running about with day to day eerands with my son, working out or at home cooking. There is simply no need for me to be wearing or spending so much time devoted to applying a full face of makeup everyday. At weekends I now enjoy putting in that extra effort with my makeup and it feels like a novelty. My skin is reaping the bennefits of this stripped back approach to my daily beauty routine.

I love trying out new beauty products and introducing new products to my regime. At the moment these are the products I continue to reach for on a daily basis. I hope I may have given you inspiration to finding your happy medium place too. Thanks for stopping by.
