The Irish blogger agency held a style event in Limerick city, where a group of bloggers visited Limerick to taste what the city had to offer. It is mid December and my hometown Limerick is buzzing with festive cheer. We were going to experience the magic of what Limerick has to offer. As I am from Limerick it was truly special to see my home town being praised through the eyes of our vistors.

The Savoy Hotel

I arrived at The Savoy hotel to start our day out with a champagne breakfast. Not a bad way to start off your Friday if I do say so myself. On entering The Savoy Hotel my stress from every day life seemed to melt away. The magic of a five star hotel hits you instantly, the smell, the decor not a floral arrangement out of place. Grand chandeliers hung over head as we dinned and sipped champagne through the morning. The room was elegant and glamorous. An instagram worthy breakfast spread with white and gold detailing cutlery. The attention to detail is unwavering throughout The Savoy Hotel.

Off we set on to the cobbled streets to seek out the boutiques that Limerick has to offer. Limerick is filled with beautiful buildings, stores, and street art work to feast your eyes upon. One moment you are in the hustle and bustle of the city center and then next you are hidden between the sleepy and peaceful cobbled streets. Our first stop was O’Donnell Boutique Which was filled with an array of different styles. From dresses to jeans  to a personal favourite of mine the stylish fedora and floppy hats. It is easy to see why this boutiques has many awards up its sleeves, including The Best Ladies Fashion Store 2016.

Next was on to their sister boutique which was of course The Lily Boutique Lily boutique to me is how I would describe and like to aim my style towards. Walking into this boutique I always seem to leave a piece of my heart behide. Every item they stock is unique and effortlessly chic. The cut of these fabrics are a womens best friend. Not only are these clothes tailored to perfection but fit like a glove. I am utterly obbseesed with this boutique. My christmas wish list has grown  once again after this visit. Each boutique we visited held very generous competitions. In the Lily boutique they held the social media craze the mannequin challenge. We held it for a few minutes and which ever item we were holding during the maniqen challenge – the winners got to keep. This was such a fun competion and I was beyond thrilled to have been one of the winners choosen. I am too excited to show you the beautiful Camel coat I won. (blog post coming soon!!)

Next stop was  every girls dream. Known as The Diamond people to the locals it was of course Ryans Jewellers I learned so much while I was visiting their beautiful store. Ryans Jewellers is a family-run Jewellery business which opened in 1964 but is a jewellery store since 1876. This year in 2016, They celebrate 140 Years as a Jewellery Store. As they are experts in diamonds I was soaking in as much knowledge as I could. I even got to get up and close with a diamond and check it out through one of those magnifying glasses. (Something I always secretly  wanted to try)

Anyone that has been following my blog for awhile will know how much I love eyewear.I like to have different styles of glasses to suit different outfits, my ever changing style and ahem… My mood. So I was very excited when I seen we were visiting Visions2opticians   100% Irish owned and currently employing a team of six personel. They greeted us into a warm and friendly atmosphere. The home to  beautiful sunglasses and prescription glasses – Furla, Tom Ford, Guess, Gucci and RayBan to name just a few brands they stock. Visions 2 Opticians also held a very generous competition of posting the best tweet while we were in the store. I posted a short clip of wearing a very cool pair of vibrant red glasses which won me a pair of show stopping Tom Ford sunnies. ( Blog post coming soon on these beauties) I also may need to call back to get my hands on those red glasses. They really were something special.

If drooling over diamond rings wasn’t enough to have my heart strings been tugged – next stop was The Attic Bridal Boutique Walking into this boutiue was like stepping into a fairytail. This dreamy boutique is what little girls dreams are made of. Rails of the most exquisite gowns I have ever seen surrounded the store. The Attic Bridalwear Boutique is a new and unique Bridal Store open in the heart of Limerick City. It is a calm space where a bride will feel comfortable, special and relaxed. The owner Orlaith whom has a fashion background aids the bride in her path to finding the perfect style to suit her.

Inside is a ladies dream ranging from party dresses, cocktail dresses and stunning ball gowns. These dresses have been seen on celebrites such as Vogue Williams,Pippa O’Connor and Rozanna Purcell to name but a few. The Ivory Closet have also been featured throughout many television programmes such as Come Dine With Me Ireland, ICA Bootcamp, The Saturday Night Show, The Late Late Show and Love/Hate. I was lucky to have The Ivory Closet as one of my fashion brands that took part in the Fashion show I recently hosted in October. The Cuisine

We Dined in style through out the day with a side of Champagne and cockatils. For lunch we sampled Aroi (pronounced Aroy) is associated with the eating experience in Asia and means delicious or tasty. I had a delicious Spicey noodle dish that was mouth watering good! Aroi is the fresh healthy option for a lunch on the go. Aroi sources authentic herbs and spices and they do not use M.S.G. in any of their preparation. Their ethos is to serve market fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The cheif put us to the test using just chopsticks!!

Afternoon tea was held in the Hook and Ladder We were spoilt for choice with Christmas cakes and puddings. A tea and coffee break was very much welcomed by all at this time in the evening. Hook & Ladder provides an excellent artisan food service for all taste buds, catering for breakfast through to evening meals. The Hook and Ladder offer a scrumptious section of home baked cakes from their in store bakery, as well as a wide selection of premium coffees, speciality teas and assortment of fine wines.

What better way to finish the day off but with Candy cane cocktails in Teds bar and Venue The Iconic Teds Venue has undergone a complete facelift and under new ownership and management. The staff in Teds Bar were very friendly and welcoming and it was the perfect end to what was a fantastic day in Limerick city.

There is something very romantic about Limerick City especially amongst the festive celebrations. This was a fantastic experience and looking back at these moments fill me with happiness and nostalgia. I look forward to seeing these very talented bloggers again and hope they come back to visit my home town again soon. #Limerickstyle
